Northern Virginia-based management consulting firm, Greenhouse Consulting, announces the addition of corporate development executive Paul Mayer, who joins the firm as a Senior Advisor. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President at Navient.

Paul Mayer has more than 25 years of C-Suite experience leading growth strategy and corporate development initiatives. At Sallie Mae and its successor company Navient, Mayer led strategic planning, M&A, strategic partnerships, and venture investments, executing over 30 transactions. He also founded Sallie Mae Bank, oversaw the P&L of a rapidly growing $250 million portfolio of businesses, and led the capture and start-up of a multi-billion-dollar federal contract. He has deep experience buying and selling middle market companies and managing merger integration activities in businesses that span financial services, government services, healthcare administration, education, software, and consulting. Mayer will work primarily with business owners, CEO’s and CFO’s on both buy-side and sell-side transaction strategy and preparation, as well as broader growth strategies.

“Paul is both a highly experienced Fortune 500 executive and a seasoned strategy consultant. We are thrilled that he is joining our team to help our business owner clients achieve greater organic growth, make effective acquisitions, and prepare the company for a successful exit,” said Bill Rossello, Managing Partner.

Since opening its doors in 2016, Greenhouse has expanded its footprint and client base serving small and mid-market companies in federal government contracting, technology, professional services, engineering, and science.
